Janie Stapleton
Designer by day, illustrator also by day.
I work primarily on key art for movies and TV. I also do outdoor advertising and special shoot sketch presentations (I concept and sketch).
My work is stubbornly personal and meticulously polished. I dig deep into the films I work on to develop thoughtful, emotional images. Or witty, ridiculous ones.
Watercolor is my favorite tool, but I love working with photography or drawing in Photoshop. I often blend it all together to create posters that feel tactile, clean, and surreal.
If you’d like to see my portfolio or are interested in working with me, please e-mail: info@janiestapleton.com
I also do my own illustration. My art is about how cool it is to be alive, even if it’s a hard ride. I do lots of drawings and sometimes I make books.
If you’d like to buy my work, it’s available in my shop. It opens one weekend a month, usually the 3rd weekend. Sign up for my e-mail list if you would like to know when it’s open.
Art aside, I do jiu jitsu and read. Sometimes I go outside. I think I’m one of the last people still buying 35mm film.
